Moreau Center for Service and Justice
Explore Leadership, Experience Immersion, & Engage in Your Community
At the Moreau Center, our core commitments of solidarity, social justice, reflection, and community are all about finding common ground through serving the common good. Our dedicated staff is here to help you find opportunities where you can experience the positive impact of your work.
Planting Seeds of Understanding & Hope
Experience Immersion
Our Social Justice Immersion programs are opportunities to fully engage in the context, dialogue, and initiatives of critical social issues. Choose from trips that last from 3 days up to 3 weeks, where you'll form authentic connections with communities while you expand your own understanding of the possibilities for social change.
Stay Connected to Your Community
Engage Service
Whether you're looking for a one time volunteer opportunity or an ongoing commitment to a specific population—you can even volunteer with friends from your residence hall—we are here to help you find a program that inspires you.
Plunge Into Your Neighborhood
Pre-Orientation Program
The Plunge is a 3 day pre-orientation program for first year and transfer students and a great way to make new friends while you get to know the North Portland neighborhoods through service.
Other Opportunities
Community Service Work Study
If you qualify for Federal Work Study, you can earn your work study allotment with one of our off-campus community partner organizations. Make a positive impact by connecting to the community while you develop skills to use in your future career.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Moreau Center student leaders gain valuable skills and experience in a compassionate community that demonstrates the value of service. Lead a team for a service project, become a Plunge Storyteller, or work to coordinate opportunities with our partners!
