Prior to joining the University of Portland fulltime, Kelly Fox served 10 years as adjunct faculty at UP in the undergraduate and graduate programs with a focus on leadership and innovation. Her emphasis is on creating an environment that invites students to critically analyze and master competency through scholarship and innovation. Kelly assisted in developing Corporate Health NW, a nurse managed health clinic that provided primary health care and education to employees of a major corporation. In 2007 she established Healthcare Professionals of Portland PC which provides primary healthcare, advocacy, health consultation, and coordination of care to clients from birth to death. This community model was developed to increase the quality and safety of client care. Identifying the need to serve the broader population, Kelly obtained her D.N.P. in leadership and health policy. During this time, she developed an employee-centered model of care that combines on-site nursing care and telemedicine for corporations. Kelly holds a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Portland, a master’s in nursing from the University of Washington, and doctor of nursing practice from Yale University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Oregon Action Coalition, and has held numerous board positions in the community.
