Major Kristy Harrison

Assistant Professor of Military Science, Army ROTC

Major Kristy Harrison earned a master's in public administration from Portland State University in 2015. Maj. Harrison enlisted as a light wheel vehicle mechanic in 2001 and served on active duty with 440th Signal BN in Germany. She received her commission as a second lieutenant from OSU ROTC in 2007 as a medical officer. Maj. Harrison served in the Oregon Army National Guard as the state medical officer recruiter, the second officer of 2-641 Aviation Battalion, the medical operations officer in the 102nd Civil Support Team WMD, while simultaneously serving as the JFHQ HHD Commander, and is currently the 82 BDE Adjutant (Sl). Her military education includes Medical Logistics, Civil Support Skills, Confined Space Rescue, and Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention. Maj. Harrison's awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Armed Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Oregon National Guard Superior Faithful Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. She belongs to the National Guard Association of the United States and the Women in the Military Service for America Memorial Foundation. Maj. Harrison lives in Portland with her family and enjoys triathlons, snowboarding, golfing, camping, and any outdoor adventure.
