Timothy Winslea
Instructor, School of Nursing

Prior to his appointment at UP, the Rev. Timothy Winslea served Presbyterian (U.S.A.) and United Methodist congregations both in New York and Oregon for over twenty-five years. The hallmarks of his ministry included congregational development, interfaith dialogues, and social justice work related to healthcare, LGBTC+ and homelessness. Timothy holds a B.A. in religious studies from the College of Wooster with a focus on interfaith relations and World War Two era eschatology as well as a M.Div. from the San Francisco Theological Seminary. In search of a spiritual discipline to enhance his preaching, Timothy acquired a B.S.N. from Linfield College and held nursing positions related to long-term and post-operative care as well acute adult behavioral health. He also has a M.S.N. with a focus on nursing education from the University of Phoenix and has served as an adjunct instructor for UP and Linfield before his full-time appointment. Over the years he has sat on numerous non-profit and ecclesiastical boards and has had several hymn texts published. Besides his teaching position at UP he serves as a nurse theologian for the Presbyterian Urban Network in Portland.
