Ashley Hass

Ashley Hass received her Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Texas Tech University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida where she earned a volleyball scholarship. She completed her M.B.A. at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio where she was able to study abroad in Germany for half a year. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Ashley gained experience in marketing and entrepreneurship. She started her digital marketing journey at .decimal, a device manufacturer of radiation products, while she coached volleyball. After moving to Texas, Ashley worked at the Harvey Najim Center as a lead researcher followed by Launch SA, a partnership between the City of San Antonio and the microlender LiftFund, where she pioneered its social innovation program. Ashley also helped entrepreneurs with their digital strategies, hosted pitch competitions, and mentored business owners in various programs such as the culinary accelerator. Ashley’s research focuses on digital marketing, social media, and consumer well-being. She is fascinated by how digital technology and social media is shaping the world. Her research has been published in the Journal of Consumer Behaviour, the Journal of Macromarketing, the Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Marketing Education Review, among others. With her background in athletics, Ashley is very passionate about teaching and mentoring. She hopes she can pay forward the great guidance and support she has received over the years to get her where she is today. Ashley enjoys traveling, learning about new cultures, hiking, and being on the water.
