Robin Ranit

Major Robin Ranit is a life-long native of Oregon and joined the Oregon Army National Guard in 2006 after earning his undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University. He earned his commission through the Officer Candidate School at Fort McClellan, Alabama and subsequently completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. Shortly after, he was federally mobilized and deployed as a platoon leader with 41 Infantry Brigade Combat Team during Operation Iraqi Freedom 09-10. He then served as a company executive officer and battalion logistics officer before assuming command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2 Battalion, 162 Infantry Regiment. During his command, he was federally mobilized and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 14 near the Kabul Base Cluster. After demobilization, he assumed command of a weapons company followed by assignment to staff as a battalion operations officer and brigade assistant operations officer. He entered the Active Guard Reserve program in 2020, serving as executive officer of 1 Battalion, 186 Infantry Regiment. His most recent previous assignment was the personnel officer for 41 Infantry Brigade Combat Team. His civilian work experience includes civil engineering and land surveying.
