Jon Down

About

Professor Down is a Strategy & Entrepreneurship professor at the University of Portland’s Pamplin School of Business with teaching, research and consulting interests that blend strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation in technology environments. He has led numerous curriculum development efforts including a partnership between the University of Portland and Oregon Health & Science University to develop a graduate level program aimed at commercializing science and technology research and the creation of new entrepreneurship academic programs at Oregon State University and the University of Portland. Professor Down’s research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Management Inquiry and the Journal of Applied Systems Studies among others. He is regularly quoted in local and national media on strategy and entrepreneurship related news stories. Professor Down has taught, lectured and traveled widely, holds duel U.S. and British citizenship and is always interested in connecting with people and organizations that have passion for what they do and are creative and innovative in how they do it.
