Dr. Dyer teaches Anatomy and Physiology and Developmental Biology. She holds a Ph.D. in cell biology from Duke University and a B.S. in chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After obtaining her Ph.D., she held positions as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an assistant professor at Middle Georgia State University. Her research focuses on heart development, including the formation of the coronary arteries and the effects of alcohol exposure on cardiac innervation. Her published work includes peer-reviewed research articles, review articles, and invited editorials in journals such as Science Signaling, Developmental Biology, and the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology.
