About

A born and raised Oregonian, I am joining the University of Portland full-time faculty team after serving in the role of an adjunct clinical faculty member for the School of Nursing & Health Innovations since 2020. Prior to joining the adjunct faculty team, my academic experience includes teaching for the nursing program at my alma mater, Concordia University-Portland, from 2016 through 2020.

Nursing is not only a physically and mentally challenging career but also a work of the heart, caring for those around us most in need. I believe that teaching and mentoring others to do this valuable work with skill, poise, generosity, and compassion is a true privilege and honor.

My professional nursing background includes almost a decade of experience working in the ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and ECMO Center of Excellence as a Relief Charge Nurse, preceptor, ECMO Specialist, shared governance chair, Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention champion, and unit Preceptor Coordinator orienting and onboarding new hires, as well as experience in both pediatric home health and outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Through all of these roles and experiences, I have found teaching the invaluable work and heart of nursing and seeing students excel in their journey to serve their community to be the most rewarding part of my career.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, adventuring with our extended family, and hanging out with our two cats.

I feel blessed to be joining the University of Portland School of Nursing & Health Innovations full-time to serve alongside a talented, diverse, and dedicated team.
