About

Mike Eom recently earned full professor at the University of Portland's Pamplin School of Business.

Mike also holds the Emerald Distinguished Professor of Operations & Technology Management (OTM) and Information Systems.  He earned his B.S. in economics from Iowa State University, his M.A. in economics from the State University of New York at Albany, and his M.B.A. in finance and MIS and Ph.D. in management from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

His areas of teaching include introductory OTM, systems analysis, database management and Excel spreadsheet modeling. His research interests are in IS leadership, IT project management, strategic use of IT, corporate social responsibility, health care IT, e-commerce, virtual organization, and IT valuation.

He has several publications in Journal of Information Management, Journal of Management Systems, Journal of Information Technology Management, JITTA, and International Journal of E-Business Research and a book chapter. He also serves on the editorial board for JITM and in executive advisory for CIO Forum & Society for Information Management (SIM).  Mike is also the president of Association for Information Systems (AIS) Special Interest Group (SIG) on IT Leadership.  AIS SIGLEAD has 100+ researchers across the globe.
