Anna comes to University of Portland via Virginia, where she was born and raised. She graduated from University of Virginia this past fall with a PhD in Special Education. This marked her third degree from UVA, making her a Triple ’Hoo. Her research and academic passions center on dyslexia interventions and pre-service teacher learning. At UP, she’s working to bring dyslexia initiatives to the School of Education and serve Portland and Oregon schools as a science of reading resource. She’s a dog mom to Mabel who comes to campus with her and is a somewhat silent student in her classes. A southerner in many respects, Anna loves to cook and share food with others. Her favorite meal to make is anything you’d love to eat. You’re welcome at her table anytime.
