Kali Abel is a geographer, climate scientist, and political ecologist who has been at University of Portland since 2017. She has worked as a mountaineering guide, environmental consultant, writer, and pseudo-professional runner. She is passionate about the convergence of the physical and social sciences, climate change adaptation, climate and migration policy, climate change communication, science education, and perhaps a thousand other related and non-related topics. A Portland native, she is grateful to spend much of the year in the classroom and the remainder working in the field internationally, largely within the Global South.
