Loan entrance counseling is required by federal regulations for all first-time borrowers. The counseling session gives an overview of the federal loan program, including the types of loans available, interest rates, borrower rights and responsibilities, etc.
Loan exit counseling is required when borrowers graduate or leave college to make sure that they understand their rights and responsibilities as a borrower.
Entrance and exit counseling can be completed at studentaid.gov.
