Spirituality Ambassadors

Couched in the mission of Campus Ministry, which is to provide all members of the community to grow in awareness of God’s presence and God’s invitation to communion, the Spiritual Ambassadors program will provide a leadership opportunity in each residence hall that will ground their hall in this knowledge.  The Spirituality Ambassador Program will be the flagship leader development opportunity within Campus Ministry.  The goal of the Spiritual Ambassador program is to create students who are prepared to exercise spiritual based leadership, to be good citizens of the earth and, ultimately, citizens of heaven.

Formation experiences for the Spirituality Ambassador include:

  • This year's Faith & Formation AmbassadorsReceive 1:1 personal formation with assigned Campus Ministers on a regular basis.
  • Begin or maintain discipline of spiritual direction.
  • Begin or maintain a regular rhythm of personal prayer.
  • Begin or maintain a regular participation in communal prayer and worship.
  • Attend a twice a semester formation event with Campus Ministry.
  • Participate in communal faith sharing with other Spirituality Ambassadors, assigned by quad.

The Spirituality Ambassador will also exercise and model servant-leadership to their peers in the residence halls:

  • Collaboration with other campus partners, which would consist of connecting with Moreau Center SJCs, Peer Wellness Ambassadors, Resident Assistants, Pastoral Residents, and broader members of the campus community in academia and Student Affairs.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of annual hall retreat.
  • Provide programming and connective space on a regular basis for residence hall community to grow deeper in spiritual understanding of self in relation to mystery.
  • Attend weekly Hall Mass.

The Spirituality Ambassador will receive the following remuneration for their service in the program:

  • Preferred Housing Selection during the Housing Process.
  • Potential for housing stipend ($500) in the spring semester.
