“My Pamplin School of Business courses gave me great technical skills that prepared me for the work I do today. I was an undeclared business major during my first year at UP. The business core curriculum gave me great exposure to all the business majors, which helped me figure out what I ultimately wanted to do.
I learned the importance of supply chain and database management in my Operations & Technology Management classes, which got me interested in my field of work. Sports Marketing was my favorite class at UP because it gave me exposure to industry professionals and taught me a lot about sports brands. I really appreciated how accessible all the business professors were. If I ever needed help, they were always willing to meet during office hours or outside of class to provide additional support.
One of my favorite memories of my time at UP was getting the opportunity to study abroad in Tokyo at Sophia University. Learning about international business in a class full of students from around the world was such an amazing experience. Being fully immersed in another culture while simultaneously learning about it made the experience so much more memorable.
As a student, I was able to network with people at Nike, which helped me secure a job offer after graduation. I currently work in North America Marketplace Operations. My job responsibilities include working with Nike’s supply chain managing units from our overseas factories to domestic distribution centers.”
