“As a firmware engineer intern, I write codes to make all the components of a computer function and communicate with each other. I spend the majority of my day coding, which has been an excellent learning opportunity for me outside of the classroom. This internship combines both of my majors very well. Firmware engineering involves coding, which I use in computer science, and runs on basic hardware components, which applies to my electrical engineering education.
I believe internships are a vital experience for undergraduate students to have. I recommend that all students try to get an internship, which will give them meaningful work and valuable resources to help them in the future. I have enjoyed getting experience in business culture and how the theories I have learned in the classroom can be applied in real-world settings.”
