Accounting Intern at Aspen Capital

Major: Accounting

David Pierce“At Aspen Capital, I work with accounts on reconciling and updating their books to make sure they’re accurate, creating and updating multiple financial reports before they’re released to the SEC, preparing and posting various journal entries, and assisting with the implementation of new ERP and accounting systems. Since starting my internship, I have learned new accounting programs, new Excel skills, and how an equity firm works. Most importantly, I feel like my accounting knowledge has been solidified as working at Aspen Capital has put everything into perspective.

I believe that internships are important because they allow students to gain valuable knowledge outside of the classroom and understand their field for the better. After I graduate, I hope to get a master’s degree in finance and take the CPA exam. After that I am planning on being a public accountant, investment analyst, and possibly a CFO.”
