UP Campus at an Additional Location
The Salzburg program is considered a UP Campus at an Additional Location which has been in operation since 1964. This model assumes a great deal of financial and legal obligations that are nearly impossible to replicate in other locations. Faculty in Salzburg are considered UP Faculty, and the academic oversight of the program operates similarly to UP Portland course offerings. Courses are approved via the curriculum review process by each appropriate department. Due to the nature of UP having responsibility over the resources in Salzburg, the location could be utilized to run more Faculty Led programs (see below). Due to the fiscal responsibility of managing the additional campus location, there is also a prioritization of maximizing the full use of this resource.
