What happens when I call to make a primary care appointment?
Reception will...
- Ask you to briefly describe your symptoms/medical concerns. We ask this question so our healthcare team can be best prepared to care for you. Please keep in mind that all communication with reception staff is confidential.
If you are not comfortable sharing your symptoms with reception, you can say generally what the appointment is regarding (i.e. "sexual health").
- Ask for your name and date of birth so we can look you up in our medical record system.
- Offer the soonest available time for the type of appointment you're needing. If the proposed time conflicts with your schedule, reception will propose other options until we find a time that works for you.
- Ask for your insurance information and local address for billing.
- You will receive an automated reminder email the night before your scheduled appointment.
