Activities Fair Coordinator

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Student Activities
  • Responsible for planning, managing and implementing the various aspects of the Activities Fair events at the University of Portland, usually scheduled for the first week of school during the fall and spring semesters
  • Act as a positive ambassador for student engagement and involvement in campus activities
  • Invite recognize clubs, campus departments and other UP affiliated resources to participate
  • Track RSVPs for the events, design diagram based on individual group needs
  • Partner with the Office of Student Activities staff on the creation and distribution of marketing and advertising materials, social media, etc. to encourage community participation
  • Serve as point of contact between Student Activities, collaborating clubs and organizations, and other participants, providing written and verbal communication as appropriate
  • Attend Activities Fair and any planning meetings necessary for its execution
  • Greet participants and give directions as necessary
  • Contribute to efforts to set up and take down the events

 

General Qualifications and Requirements

  • Full-time undergraduate student
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work individually during the summer
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of UP campus and community
  • Written final evaluation of preparation and event management responsibilities

 

Time Commitment and Required Availability

  • Available for weekly check-ins and post-orientation debrief
