Orientation Expectations

All students are expected to attend all Orientation sessions to prepare for the first day of class. We have consolidated the schedule into PST afternoons to do our best to accommodate students from different time zones. While you will be attending from home, please consider Orientation sessions as a “mini-course” on how to be a successful student at UP. Thus, we recommend planning your day so that you will remove any unnecessary distractions and be able to give your full attention to the material.

If you have any questions about Orientation, send a text to 503.208.4025. Student coordinators will be answering your questions Wednesday August 19 - Friday August 21 from 1 - 5 p.m.

UP Mobile App

Orientation information is on the UP mobile app! Access University of Portland information, programs, and services anytime, anywhere with UP Mobile, including Orientation!  Featuring news, calendars, sports schedules, and maps, as well as course information, local bus schedules, and campus dining menus, this app will help you stay up-to-date on campus events and help you access important University of Portland services. It's available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android devices.  Once you have downloaded the app, you can select Fall Orientation 2020 from the featured program menu.

The UP Online Learning Resources site has resources to help you with the transition to online learning and completing online coursework. Learn more about how online classes work and tips to be successful in online learning.

Learn about how to get involved in campus life with Engage. Be sure to log in to Engage with your UP username and password in order to see the full range of options.
