One of the goals of the Shepard Academic Resource Center is to provide assistance to every student to ensure a successful academic experience and help them to remain at the University of Portland. In working to attain that goal, we consider the parents of our students an essential partner, and we recognize that parents are often the first to hear about or notice issues their students are struggling to overcome.
The Early Alert Program is a key part of this goal. When parents are concerned about the physical, emotional, academic or personal health of a University student, the Early Alert Program can assess the situation, offer support, and provide referrals to the breadth of resources on-campus.Parents with such concerns are asked to fill out the online form linked below. After the form is submitted, a member of the Early Alert team will be in contact with the referring family member.
