Favorite "hidden gem" in Portland: I’m not sure if this place is hidden, but it is a gem. The Hollywood Theatre. The Hollywood Theatre is a Portland landmark with a national reputation for award-winning film programming. Located in NE Portland and housed in an iconic building, the Hollywood Theatre shows a wide range of films that one cannot find anywhere else in Portland. The popcorn is good too!

Advice for prospective students: Your admission counselor is an excellent source of information about the University of Portland, the city, and the surrounding area. Utilize your counselor for answers to questions you and your family will have. UP Admissions Counselors are also fun to speak with!

Favorite spot on campus: The Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center is easily one of my favorite places on campus. It is a state-of-the art facility with an indoor track, cardio area, weight room, gyms, fitness studios and more. The Outdoor Pursuits Program is also housed in the Beauchamp Rec Center. This is where you can borrow and rent the gear you need for the mountains, water, and snow to safely explore the great Pacific Northwest!
