Advice for prospective students: Ask lots of questions! Call, email, and reach out to different people to learn about different colleges and post-grad opportunities! We are here for you and love being a resource for anything and everything.

Favorite "hidden gem" in Portland: The Portland Japanese Gardens are a must-visit! They are so beautiful and carefully cared for. Check it out in the fall when the leaves change color and in the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom!

Favorite UP event: Family Weekend! We host a Junior/Senior Family Weekend in the fall, and a First-Year/Sophomore gathering in the spring! It is always fun meeting parents and supporters of classmates and friends. UP has a lot of programming those weekends as well – my parents enjoyed visiting campus and cheering alongside our Villa Drum Squad at the men’s soccer game!

Favorite spot on campus: East Quad, one of our residential quads, is always full of life, especially on a sunny day! You can usually find tons of students playing spikeball, throwing a frisbee around, hammocking, picnicking, and just enjoying the warm weather!
