Army ROTC is an elective curriculum taken alongside required college classes. It gives cadets the tools, training, and experiences that will help them succeed in any competitive environment. In addition to a normal college experience like everyone else, when graduated, cadets will be commissioned as an officer in the United States Army.
Army ROTC students who receive a scholarship or enter the ROTC Advanced Course must agree to complete a period of service with the Army. Enrolling in the Army ROTC basic elective course does NOT involve a commitment of service to the Army unless you have received an Army ROTC scholarship.
