February 10, 2025 Update:

Tickets for Family Members, Friends, & Supporters

The University is excited to welcome family members, friends, and supporters to our 2025 Commencement Weekend! As a reminder, most Commencement Weekend events are not ticketed and all are warmly welcomed to attend.

Due to stronger-than-anticipated demand for Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony participation, the University will offer five (5) Commencement Ceremony tickets per graduate for distribution to their family members, friends, and supporters. (Remember, the graduating student does not need a ticket for the Commencement Ceremony.)

The University anticipates that additional tickets may become available at a later date. To request additional tickets, please tap the appropriate box on the Graduation Checklist. Note that additional tickets are not guaranteed, and the process for distributing additional tickets (should they be offered) will be outlined in a future communication.

As you complete the Graduation Checklist, please only request the number of tickets that you will actually use. Tickets are non-transferable, and requesting tickets that will not be used by your own family members, friends, and supporters is not permitted. Thank you in advance for adherence to this policy.

Finally, the University will live stream the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. The live stream will be shown live in an on-campus location near the Chiles Center. The live stream experience is intended for family members, friends, and supporters who do not have a ticket to the Commencement Ceremony, but nevertheless wish to take part in all of the fun of Commencement Weekend. The live stream might also be the perfect viewing spot for little ones and others who would rather not attend the event within the Chiles Center.

Tickets are required for admittance to the undergraduate Commencement ceremony.

Undergraduates will receive five (5) tickets* for their guests.

  • Students do not need a ticket for themselves, only their guests need tickets.
  • Only students eligible to participate at Commencement will be issued tickets.
  • All seats are assigned and will be assigned at random.
  • There is no cost for Commencement tickets.

All tickets will be emailed to students at their UP email one week prior to the ceremony.

*Applicants for Spring Commencement who submit their applications after the published deadline may be allocated fewer than five tickets, subject to availability. While we strive to accommodate all eligible participants, late applications may face limitations due to space constraints. To ensure the best experience for you and your guests, we strongly encourage timely submission of your application. Graduates completing their degrees in Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 are eligible to participate in the May 2025 Commencement Ceremony.
