We are in the works of organizing this year’s annual 2017 Diversity Dialogues Week! The event will be held during the week of February 27- March 3, 2017.

What's Diversity Dialogues Week?

If you aren’t familiar with Diversity Dialogues Week or want a refresher, here is a link to the 2016 Diversity Dialogues Week Promo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFfmjRJnpPg&feature=youtu.be. My role as a diversity coordinator is to help market all club activities and to help create the main calendar. Clubs that decide to participate create their own events and work with their advisors to complete the details, such as room reservations, etc.

How Can My Club or Group Sign-Up?

If you are a club in the Office of Student Activities or you are sponsored by a department, your group can participate. Sign-ups are due by Monday, January 30 (some extensions pay be feasible, but you need to contact us). Please see this link to sign-up your program/event now: https://uportland.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0OCxaq4nPnVL7wN

Will You Plan My Event?

The diversity coordinators act as stewards of the calendar and help market the general week schedule. We empower clubs/groups/department to participate, but these groups need to plan the logistics and make space reservations with your advisors. We also encourage groups to still market their specific events, as well.

Can We Only Have a "Dialogue" or "Discussion"?

We encourage dialogue, but we embrace the arts as a form of conversation! Discussions are wonderful and we also encourage groups to think outside the box. In the past, there have been workshops, cultural food sharing, performance art, slam poetry, and more. If you need ideas, we are here to help.

We will see you there!

Diversity Dialogues Week is a very important week of discussions regarding topics and issues that are pertinent to our community, nation, and world. We look forward to collaborating with you.
