Get Involved

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are fundamental aspects of the University of Portland. As an institution that is guided by the Congregation of Holy Cross, we aim to create an inclusive environment where all people are welcomed and every person, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, social, or economic class, age, or disability shall be treated with respect and dignity. To this end, the University continues to engage in a number of efforts to increase diversity, foster inclusion, and promote equity on campus.

MLK Day ON

The University of Portland community considers Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a day ON (not a day off), in the spirit of King's wise assessment of what gives meaning to life. We believe as he articulated, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' "  Our series of MLK Day ON events reflect-in-action our missional commitment to teaching and learning, faith and formation, and service and leadership.
