For the fifth consecutive year, University of Portland was the top Oregon school in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance annual ranking of best values in private colleges and universities. University of Portland was also ranked 65th nationwide among all private colleges and universities.

University of Portland has been the top ranked private Oregon university and has been ranked in the top 100 since Kiplinger’s began releasing its rankings of best value private universities.

Kiplinger’s assesses quality according to measurable standards, including admission rate, percentage of students returning for sophomore year, student-faculty ratio and four-year graduation rate. Cost criteria includes advertised or sticker prices, financial aid and average debt at graduation.

“Our faculty, staff and students are proud to be one of Kiplinger’s top 100 private colleges again this year. This honor is another validation of the University of Portland’s strong academics, great value and commitment to our students,” said University President Rev. Mark L. Poorman, C.S.C.

The complete rankings are available online at www.kiplinger.com/links/college. The rankings will also appear in the February 2015 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.

“We salute this year’s top schools,” says Janet Bodnar, editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. “Balancing top-quality education with affordable cost is a challenge for families in today’s economy, which is why Kiplinger’s rankings are such a valuable resource. The schools on the 2015 list offer students the best of both worlds.”
