Author Lisa Ko’s 2017 debut novel The Leavers is the 2019-2020 selection for University of Portland’s annual ReadUP campaign and the Schoenfeldt Distinguished Visiting Writers series. Ko will give a lecture in Buckley Center Auditorium on Monday, February 10, at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Ko will follow the lecture with a book signing.

Author Colum McCann’s 2009 novel Let the Great World Spin is the 2018-2019 selection for University of Portland’s annual ReadUP campaign and Schoenfeldt Distinguished Visiting Writers series. Collections technology librarian Bonnie Parks has been named the 2016 recipient of the Ulrich’s Serials Librarianship Award for her distinguished contributions to serials librarianship. The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services division of the American Library Association makes the award each year to a leader in the field.
