University of Portland’s Susan Stillwell joins American Health Council Nursing Board

Susan StillwellUniversity of Portland associate nursing dean Susan Stillwell has been selected to join the Nursing Board at the American Health Council. She was tapped by the AHC to share her knowledge and expertise in evidence-based practice, nursing, nursing education, curriculum and program development, and nursing education research. 

According to the AHC, “Our member base consists of practitioners in allied health, dentistry, obstetrics, medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, psychology & other health professions. This is further supported by our constituency’s educators, professors, researchers and scientists.” 

Stillwell has been active in the healthcare industry for 44 years. Her duties at UP include administration of the doctor of nursing and master of science degree programs, and she has been recognized for her professional accomplishments by the American Academy of Nursing, National League for Nursing, and American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She created the Nurse Educator Evidence-Based Practice mentorship program, and works with the Providence Portland Medical Foundation's Grants Review Committee to provide service to advanced nursing and nursing education.
