Campus Closures

February 24, 2023

UP Community:

The weather over the coming weekend is uncertain at best. We expect very slick roads on Saturday morning with temperatures warming to above freezing by mid-day. As such we are continuing our official closure until Saturday, February 25 at noon, though a few limited events will proceed. There may be additional snow Saturday night.  We will re-evaluate our operating status on Saturday morning and again on Sunday morning, but we expect the University to be fully open for business next week and that in-person classes and events will resume on Monday, February 27.

Shutdown pay continues for essential emergency staff and any others who are required by their supervisors to work over the weekend through Saturday at noon (subject to possible extension on Saturday morning depending upon the weather outlook).

Scheduling items of note:

  • The Clark Library will be open normal weekend hours.
  • The Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center will be open normal weekend hours.
  • The Chapel of Christ the Teacher will be open normal weekend hours.
  • The Pilot House is expected to be open normal weekend hours – weather permitting.
  • The Bauccio Commons will be open 9am-2pm for brunch and 5pm-7:30pm for dinner.
  • The reading fair scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.
  • The drag show has been postponed.
  • Men’s and Women’s tennis matches will be held on Saturday and Sunday, respectively at 10am (go cheer on our Pilot athletes)
  • Other events TBD
  • Mail Center will reopen on Monday.

Stay safe and have a little fun this weekend.
