When it comes to quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes—University of Portland once again ranks among of the nation’s premier colleges and universities.
Money magazine’s analysis of ‘The Best Colleges in America—2024’ gave UP a 4.5-star rating out of 5, touting the Catholic, Holy Cross university’s professional schools, robust study abroad program, Division I athletics, and graduation rate.
In the Northwest, UP is one of six institutions — and one of three private universities—to earn Money’s 4.5-star rating. UP is one of only five Catholic universities in the West region to reach the 4.5-star threshold.
“We are thrilled that Money has recognized the tremendous value of a University of Portland education,” said President Robert D. Kelly, PhD. “Students who join us on The Bluff receive a transformational Catholic, Holy Cross education that prepares them for lives of meaning, purpose, fulfillment, and success. This recognition of our superb quality, affordability, and outcomes is a fitting testament to the extraordinary impact of a UP education.”
Money highlighted the University’s Entrepreneur Scholars program for students from all majors, special-interest clubs, and ‘Student Success’ metrics that include UP graduates’ typical early career earnings.
A total of 745 U.S. colleges made Money’s Best Colleges—2024 list. The publication’s ratings methodology analyzed graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid, alumni salaries, and other factors.
