Rose City Night Out

Join us for a night of exploring the City of Roses & experiencing historic Mississippi Avenue!

Discover why Portland is known as the City of Roses, taste the culinary diversity of its food carts, and experience the “Keep Portland Weird” entrepreneurial vibe and historical richness of the iconic Mississippi Avenue District.

Peninsula Park Rose Garden

Start your evening enjoying light refreshments and scintillating conversation with colleagues as you “take time to smell the roses” at Portland’s first public rose garden. It’s truly a hidden gem!

Prost! Marketplace

Referred to as “the superteam of Portland food cart pods,” Prost! Marketplace boasts something for every palate. Located right next to an authentic German bier pub, it’s the perfect spot for a bite and a pint. $25 spending money per participant provided.

Historic Mississippi Avenue District

Continue your evening exploring the many restaurants, shops, art studios, murals, and more -- all of which pay tribute to the community’s vibrant and colorful history that also powerfully impacts its resilient, entrepreneurial present.

Transportation by bus will be provided to Peninsula Park beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Fitness and Recreation Options

The Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center is the hub for fitness and recreation on the University of Portland campus. The facility includes: weight room with UCS & dynamic full & half-racks; Rogue and Ivanko bumper plates and barbells; LifeFitness Olympic benches & LifeFitness selectorized machines, and sets of dumbbells; Cardio Loft equipment with over 50 treadmills, elliptical, adaptive motion trainers, stair climbers, rowing ergs, and spinning bikes made by Precor, Woodway, Octane, Concept 2 and Blade Ion; Schwinn Carbon Blue indoor cycling bikes; Spinning Blade Ion bikes; functional training areas equipment with medicine & smash balls, kettle bells, back rollers, stretching mats, TRX bands, plyo boxes, physio balls, ab rollers and jump ropes. In addition to indoor basketball courts, there is also a suspended running track with 1/8 mile loop and 1/12 mile loop.

  • Conference attendees can access Beauchamp with your conference badge. This must also be presented at the front desk where you will complete a guest waiver.

  • Tuesday-Friday: Conference attendees will have conference-only access to Beauchamp from 7:00-11:00 a.m. each day, and can also access the building during the regular operating hours.

  • The rock wall will not be open during the conference-only morning hours. 

Beauchamp Regular Operating Hours

Monday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday - Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Fields and Schoenfeldt Exercise Room

In the basement of Fields and Schoenfeldt Hall, next to the hospitality lounge, there is an exercise room (#016) with a limited number of cardio machines and weightlifting equipment. If you need assistance accessing the Fields and Schoenfeldt exercise room, please contact the Hospitality Line 503.744.6064.

Looking to get a little exercise in before you start the day?  There will be a fitness activity in the morning to get a little blood flowing before the conference.

Wednesday, June 22: Morning walk to Cathedral Coffee (1 mile away from campus); 8:00 a.m. Meet in Fields and Schoenfeldt Hall lobby.

Thursday, June 23: Guided yoga at 8:00 a.m. with student instructor, Katie Vopnford '23, in Studio 45, Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center. Please plan to arrive at 7:50 so that we can begin on time.
