Through retreats, faith sharing communities, and weekly Masses in the Chapel and residence halls, Campus Ministry helps students of all religious traditions explore and deepen their faith by building community through prayer and worship.
The Department of Campus Safety is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The department is dedicated and committed to helping the University create a civil place based on Catholic values and the common good by promoting and maintaining a safe, secure, and enjoyable campus environment for all members of the University community and its guests.
In partnership with local and global communities, the Moreau Center for Service and Justice (MCSJ) engages critical human and environmental concerns through active learning, mutually beneficial service, and experience-based leadership development rooted in Catholic social teaching. Students can take advantage of opportunities to engage service, experience immersion, and explore leadership.
The Student Health and Counseling Center (HCC) provides primary care and urgent healthcare services to current students. Students can schedule appointments for injury, illness, routine physicals, travel medicine, or individualized health consultations. Appointments are included in student fees and are available at no additional cost and regardless of insurance status.
The Office of Residence Life coordinates housing for over 2,000 members of the UP student, staff, and faculty community in nine traditional residence halls, two apartment-style halls for upperclassmen, and over 20 University-owned off-campus houses.
The Office of Student Activities provides opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom. The office oversees student media, the Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP), Pilots After Dark late-night programming, clubs and organizations, diversity and inclusion programs, fall Orientation, and Junior Parents & Families Weekend.
The Student Wellness Center provides holistic mental health and wellness services and programming to foster a culture of well‐being and empower students to maximize their potential through the synergistic cultivation of heart and mind at UP. The center administers: confidential mental health services through the Counseling Center; the CARE team program offering students support and providing referrals to the breadth of resources on‐campus; Wellness, Education and Prevention Programs; and Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate and Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Program.
The Center for Gender and Sexuality (CGS) is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable campus environment in which all students, faculty, staff, and alumni flourish. The CGS offers a range of programs, resources, and support services that celebrate diversity in sexual orientations and all gender identities.
