Accessible Education Services (AES) works in partnership with students to facilitate individually-tailored accommodations, according to student need. The types of disabilities represented among our student population include learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, psychiatric disabilities, vision and hearing impairments, and chronic health and mobility impairments. AES also provides accommodations for temporary disabilities.
AES provides a variety of accommodations to support the different needs of our students. Below are some examples of common accommodations we provide for Academic, Housing, and Campus needs.
Students are responsible for completing all required coursework and held to the same evaluation standards with or without reasonable accommodations.
Housing accommodations are guided by the policies and procedures of the Office of Residence Life.
Campus accommodations are guided by the policies and procedures of the University's Campus Safety Office and/or Physical Plant.
This is not exhaustive and accommodations are not guaranteed by request. Every student's needs are unique, all accommodation requests are evaluated on an individual basis. It is important for the student to engage in the interactive Accommodation Request process to determine what accommodations are appropriate and that we can provide. If you have any questions, contact AES or visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.
For students already approved for accommodations, more details on your accommodation(s) can be found on the AES Student Resources & Support hub on Moodle (UP login required).
