It is the goal of Accessible Education Services (AES) to provide students with disabilities with excellent services and resources in order that they may enjoy full access and inclusion to University programs and activities. If concerns or complaints arise, we strive to address them in a timely and efficient manner.
To request a reconsideration of a decision regarding a request for a reasonable accommodation by AES, the student must submit a written request for a reconsideration of the determination to Susan Ayres, Associate Director of Accessible Education Services within 30 days of the determination at issue. Please submit written requests to aes@up.edu.
The University of Portland has established procedures for addressing conflicts concerning disability access and accommodation, which are outlined in the Policy on Disability and Accessibility document.
Students are encouraged to maintain regular communication with AES staff regarding accommodation needs and to consult immediately with the AES Access Counselor if there is a concern, conflict or grievance regarding AES services. Students are invited to contact the Associate Director of Accessible Education Services (AES) for further information and assistance.
If you would like to express a concern or complaint regarding any Accessible Education Services staff, service, or testing facility, please do so in one of the following ways:
Submit the concern or complaint via UP Email or in writing to:
