Mission and Values

Care Team Mission

The Care Team is centered in the University of Portland’s Holy Cross tradition, providing students with holistic, collaborative, and individualized care that promotes their academic, spiritual and personal well-being.  The Care Team partners with devoted university professionals to assess the needs of students who face barriers by providing supportive care and resources that empower them for success.

Our Values

Empowerment: promoting personal growth and self-efficacy by enabling students to make decisions and take control of challenges they may face.

Holistic: providing services to students that support their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Student-Centered: providing care to students that focuses on their own self-identified needs.

Inclusion: Ensuring all students have equal access to resources and services on and off campus.

Collaboration: Working with campus and community partners to provide wrap around care while respecting the privacy of all students.

Prevention: Providing education and early intervention to students who may be at risk by preventing further escalation of concerning behaviors.
