"The Gilman Scholarship allowed me to travel outside of the U.S. for the first time, and engage in research, volunteer work, studies, and a lot of fun in South Africa. I am so grateful to the Gilman program for allowing me to have the best few months of my life and make incredible connections I will love for a lifetime."
