University of Portland Grant

The University may award a University of Portland Grant to undergraduate students seeking a first bachelor’s degree. Funding is limited and is awarded based on financial need.student with science beakers

The University of Portland Grant (in the amount determined after verification is complete in a student’s first year) is available for up to 8 semesters (fall and spring) of undergraduate academic study at the University of Portland. Students utilizing less than 8 semesters of eligibility will not be eligible for an increased grant during their last semester prior to graduation. Additionally, students requiring more than 8 semesters of full-time study to graduate are required to appeal to the Director of Financial Aid for consideration to have their grant eligibility extended.

Application Procedures

  • Students who apply for admission to the University and file a FAFSA are automatically considered for a University of Portland Grant.

To qualify for a University of Portland Grant, students must:

  • Demonstrate sufficient financial need; and
  • Complete verification, if selected.

University of Portland Transfer Grant

  • Be admitted as a regular student at the University of Portland
  • Be enrolled full-time and working to complete a first or second bachelor's degree
  • Award amounts vary

Other Institutional Grants

The University may award additional institutional grants in certain circumstances to undergraduate students seeking a first bachelor’s degree. Funding is limited and is awarded based on financial need. Award amounts vary and are subject to annual evaluation. A FAFSA is required to be considered for institutional grants.
