The faculty/staff newsletter, upbeat, is published every other Monday by the marketing and communications office. upbeat provides employees with “news they can use” about University services; informs them of campus news, policies, and procedures; helps them better understand the administration’s goals; and communicates faculty/staff accomplishments. Look for an email digest on Monday mornings in your inbox or visit sites.up.edu/upbeat for complete issues.
Have a story to submit? Email upbeat@up.edu. Submissions must be received by noon the Thursday prior to publication. Submissions failing to meet the deadline may not be published. For events, upbeat will run a story one-two weeks in advance of the event and a second story the week of an event. Exceptions are made for major events with nationally or internationally renowned speakers.
My Announcements on the portal (pilots.up.edu) is another forum for internal communication. There are separate channels for faculty, students, and staff, so messages can be customized or limited to specific audiences. Announcements may be posted by the director of student activities, the director of marketing, and University officers and their administrative assistants.
