StockUP Student Assistant

Job Summary

The Stock UP Student Assistant provides customer service and supports operational needs at the Wellness Center front desk. The Student Assistant will provide hospitality to Stock UP walk-in visitors and may also represent the department in tabling at Wellness related events on campus. The Student Assistant will greet visitors and create a welcoming environment. Duties include checking in visitors during walk-in hours, answering the phone, sharing resources, maintaining the food pantry and assisting with general office projects.

Core Duties

  • Greet and respond to the needs of visitors in a positive and welcoming manner as the first point of contact.
  • Communicate about Wellness Center services, resources, and events in person and over the phone.
  • Check-in visitors during walk-in hours.
  • Take inventory of the food pantry as well as restocking the food pantry.
  • Complete relevant office projects as-needed.
  • Contribute to Wellness Promotion including representing the Wellness Center in potential tabling events.
  • Carry out light physical duties, such as lifting boxes when donations are received.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, (primarily Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn new software tools
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
  • Capable of handling questions and concerns in a calm and positive manner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take instruction and clearly communicate work/project progress
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Ability to lift small boxes
