Indigenous Justice Immersion

WHEN: Spring Break 2025, March 2nd-6th

WHERE: Portland, OR and surrounding areas

WHAT: Participants will learn about the history of the indigenous tribes who have lived in the Portland area for over 11,000 years. Students will have the opportunity to learn from community organizations and non-profits. Emphasis placed on the intersection of Indigenous justice and environmental justice issues including the climate crisis, clean air, and clean water. Students will also learn about the history of the land UP sits on, including the history of the Willamette River and the environmental impacts of colonization and industry not only on the land but on its inhabitants.
